Helping an airfield after a long time closed to the public
Old Sarum Airfield has been in the news for good – and not so good – reasons over the last few years.
In 2025 there was a disastrous fire that destroyed one of the listed hangars.
There had also been a lot of disinformation about the future of the airfield – Old Sarum has a fantastic history dating back to the First World War.
The owners were keen to show and tell their side of the story, that includes detailed information on the planning process for the revamped airfield and updates on the events that are planned over the coming years.
The site is light on news items at the moment but that will change over the coming year as the owners commit to reintroducing visiting aircraft to the airfield, and extending the skydiving events.
